Cathy M. Frangie has been a dedicated and passionate beauty professional since 1982 when she first began her career as a licensed cosmetologist, salon owner and beauty school instructor. Since then, Cathy has held prominent and dynamic positions throughout many facets of the professional beauty industry, including stints as a Marketing, Communications and Education Vice President for a leading product company, Communications Director, Trade Magazine Publisher, and Textbook Editor and Author. Cathy has addressed her beauty colleagues numerous times as a guest lecturer at the International Beauty Show in NYC and in other various national venues. She has personally authored more than 125 feature length trade and consumer magazine articles and several books on beauty trends, fashion and the business of the professional salon. Cathy holds a graduate degree in communications as well as undergraduate degrees in marketing and advertising.

In her capacity as Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Joico Laboratories, Cathy was a member of the company's Executive Team and was instrumental in creating the company's strategic vision and in directing the company to achieve its goals. In her tenure she was responsible for more than 18 new product launches across all product categories, re-imaging campaigns for two prominent product lines and the launch of Joico's most successful line extension ever, The KPak Collection.

For 11 years as Vice President of Milady Publishing Company, the leading publisher of cosmetology-related educational materials in the world, Cathy lent her vision to revamping the company's line of textbooks and to introducing their first series of educational videos. In 1993 she led Milady into the professional realm with the launch of SalonOvations Publishing, the company's salon education division. In 1994 Cathy achieved another milestone when she founded and launched SalonOvations Magazine , a trade publication for beauty professionals, which quickly won audience favor and grew to become the Official Publication of the National Cosmetology Association. Throughout her tenure at Milady, Cathy was the company's international spokesperson.

In 1990, Cathy was honored to be named A Beauty Industry Role Model by the Cosmetology Advancement Foundation (CAF) and to participate in their mentor program.

Cathy's experiences and successes have given her a well-deserved reputation as an industry expert on a myriad of topics ranging from marketing and communications to education and curriculum development.
